“The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

-Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

Our goal as educators is to create lifelong learners who are interested in the community and world they are a part of.  One of the best ways to cultivate a love of learning is with enriching literature that entertains, educates, and encourages curiosity.

In New York we have wonderful public libraries and knowledgeable librarians that can provide book suggestions, as well as extra literature activities.  Contact or visit your local public library to access these excellent resources.  If you are in the White Plains area, visit The Trove at the White Plains Library.  The Trove is the children's section of the library and is a great place to visit.  If you'd like a selection of book lists visit the New York Public Library website.  In addition, the American Library Association (ALA) announces yearly book awards for the best new literature.  Review the current and past award winners to discover new books and authors.

Below is a sample of some of the literature used in the Lower School.  We are continually adding new books to our leveled library and selecting new class sets.
